I know there are tons of postings about oil leaks, changes, etc. I did the change today and was kind of surprised at how difficut it was to get to that little drain plug. Love to use socket wrenches but forget it with that location! Anyway it was a little interesting (don't have a 17 mm box end) but was done without any stripping.

My question is this - when I opened the bike up to get at te filter to change it, that little rubber o-ring that was supposed to be there (and shown in the clymer manual) was NOT. Looked everywhere thinking it had fallen but nada. Bike ran fine anyway. Anybody else had this happen - is that little o-ring necessary?

Finally - I went to my auto store and there was no SE or SF grade oil on the whole back wall. Clymer says use SE or SF. Am I missing something?
